Pinewoods Montessori welcomes three local experts in the field of child behavorial development for a panel discussion on ADHD, Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder. Their presentations will discuss:

  • What are the developmental milestones and warning signs?
  • Who are the professional resources and what do they do?
  • What are the treatment options?
  • What are the pros and cons of a diagnosis?

Parents, educators and caregivers are encouraged to attend. A Q&A session will follow. Childcare will be provided. The event is free but registration is required.

You are invited to attend any of our 10am presentations or stop by anytime between 9 and 11am.  The presentations are on the following subjects:

MONDAY – Transition from homeschool to Montessori elementary programs

TUESDAY – Features our Transition class for 5-8 yr olds with 3-6 teacher, Karen Carrubba and 6-9 teacher, Marguerite Rogers.

WEDNESDAY – Open discussion “What is Montessori?” with a panel of Heartwood’s educators

THURSDAY – Lower elementary teachers, Jeny Brill and Bridget Dickerson will present a slide show of the Montessori curriculum for math and language featuring the unique equipment used to entice children to be self-directed learners.

FRIDAY – Director, Sue Daniel will focus on the value of having a Montessori education by explaining the scientific tools for discovery used in the 3-6 year old environment.
